The Jackson Beer Board approved one business permit during a special called meeting at Jackson City Hall, Thursday.

Justin Mark Tapp, owner of Spring Street Cigars, 107 W. Main St., was approved to sell, store, and serve beer on the premises.

Spring Street Cigars, which opened Monday, offers a wide variety of cigars, with a relaxing atmosphere.

Business hours are temporary – 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

Regular hours – coming soon – 10 a.m. – 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday; 1 p.m. – 6 p.m., Sunday.

The Jackson location is the first in the state of Tennessee, and the first outside the state of Mississippi.

Founded in Tupelo, MS, Spring Street Cigars is also located in Starkville, Southaven, Oxford, Booneville (which is also owned by Justin Tapp), Kosciusko, Meridian and Hattiesburg.
