If all goes to plan, Back Yard Burgers opens at 10 a.m., Wednesday at the corner of North Parkway and Rosenblum Drive at the same Vinings location it once occupied.
The restaurant is owned by the father-son team of Gifford and Josh Powell from Little Rock, Arkansas.
The Jackson location will be the seventh Back Yard Burgers franchise in the Powell’s portfolio.
They own three in Arkansas and three in the Mississippi Delta.
Changes are noticeable at the Jackson restaurant -inside and outside.
“The decor inside is lighter, and the exterior is more modern,” Josh Powell said. “We’re trying to re-surface … like a phoenix rising from the ashes.”
With corporate offices in Nashville, Back Yard Burgers has restaurants in 12 states.
