MAC.BID, which purchases truckloads of returned and overstock merchandise from numerous national big box and online retailers, is opening in Jackson at 2151 North Highland Ave., which is the former home of American Freight Furniture & Mattress.
Items at the 30,600-square-foot facility, are processed and put into individual auction lots that are sold on its website and mobile app. All auction lots start at $1.00 and are sold to the highest bidder without reserve pricing.
Virtually anything sold by large retailers can be found on MAC.BID. These items range in size from Apple phone chargers to Peloton exercise bikes. The typical retail price range is from $25.00 to thousands of dollars.
MAC.BID will post tens of thousands of new auction items daily. Each item has a posted closing time – set a reminder to make sure you do not miss out on the closing of the auction. The auctions are posted every weekday evening.
To participate, a customer must create an account and add a payment method (credit or debit card) that will be charged for your successful auctions. If for some reason the customer needs to change the card they have used for bidding they have until the morning after the auction closed to change it to avoid any problems with the transaction being successful.
Every item in an auction has its own countdown clock to advise the potential buyer of the time left before the close of that auction.
Should a higher bid come in as an auction is closing, the auction clock will reset to allow additional bids and will continue to do so if there is active bidding.
