A pedestrian who has not been identified died after being struck by an automobile on U.S. Highway 45 Bypass near Golden Circle Ford, late Thursday.

“The pedestrian died on the scene,” said Capt. Derick Tisdale of the Jackson Police Department. “A suspect is in custody.”

Tisdale said names of the victim or the suspect have not been released.
