JACKSON TENN. (August 7, 2017) - Armstrong Flooring employees at the Jackson plant were notified Monday that the Jackson facility will close in the fourth quarter of 2017. According to a statement, 215 employees at the Jackson facility will be let go as a result of the plant closing. According to Armstrong consumer demand for wood flooring and other products has shifted, creating an overproduction of the type of product manufactured in Jackson. Local leaders say that the overall employment outlook in Madison County is positive. Job seekers have the opportunity for re-training at TCAT, and local manufacturers are offering training opportunities with job placement. By Keith Sherley Email, [email protected]
