MEMPHIS, Tennessee — Ronald McDonaldo House Charities of Memphis recognized Essence Douglas from McDonald’s Store 10301 in Brownsville, TN as the March 2024 “Round-Up Rockstar.”
“Essence has been working at our Brownsville location for three years,” said store managers Cedric Koonce and Margaret Mason. “She is a crew trainer and she performs all tasks with a great attitude.”
According to a press release from Emily Pennington – community development & communication coordinator – McDonald’s stores that fundraise over $500 each month for RMHC-Memphis through the Round-Up for RMHC program are placed into a random drawing. The owner operator of the winning store will then select one person from their team to receive a special gift from RMHC-Memphis.
The Round-Up for RMHC helps to support families traveling to West Tennessee for the medical care and services that their child needs.
Over 125 McDonald’s locations from across West Tennessee, Southeast Missouri, Northeast Arkansas and Northern Mississippi share the mission of RMHC-Memphis with customers through asking for support and advocating for families through the Round-Up campaign.
When visiting a McDonald’s restaurant, anyone can help support families with sick children by choosing to Round-Up for RMHC when placing an order at the kiosk, counter or drive-thru. Spare change may also be dropped in any of the RMHC donation boxes in restaurant or drive-thru.
