Ammonia Leak At Jackson Plant

Emergency Responders dispatched to a dangerous gas leak in East Jackson

At 7:36 Wednesday morning Hazmat, EMA, Jackson Firefighters, EMS, and other first responders were called to Pinnacle Foods at 96 Pinnacle Drive for reports of an ammonia leak.

According to Chief Maxie Stewart, Jackson Fire Department, the affected area was in the rear of the building.  That area was evacuated as a precaution.  The leak was contained by the in-house containment team of Pinnacle Foods.  The cause of the leak was identified as a valve leak.  The JFD set up a decontamination area and was prepared to assist if needed.

There were no injuries reported.
