Water Damage and Superintendent Search Discussed

by David Thomas

JACKSON Tenn, (January 10, 2017) – Water damage caused by a leaking roof at Whitehall Pre-K dominated the majority of discussion when the Jackson-Madison County School System met Monday at central office.
Dr Verna Ruffin said the system awaits an asbestos report.

If the report gives the clearance the next step would be to move materials and equipment to what was Nova Elementary, a school closed after the 2016 school year as a part of Vision 20/20.
Ruffin told board members and others in attendance she recommends a move to Nova.
Hail damage preceded the rain and snow complicated matters Friday, Jan. 6.  Also, the board said 12 people have applied for the superintendent’s position.
