Work begins on Great Wolf Lodge

The wait is over and construction has started at the Great Wolf Lodge on an approximate 40-acre site at the Tiger Jones Technology Park off Interstate 40 at exit 85 near Rockabillys Stadium and the West Tennessee Sportsplex.

Original plans call for the road to the site to be developed off Dr. F.E. Wright Drive near Ridgecrest Road.

The $150 million-plus, 450-room Great Wolf Lodge is scheduled to create approximately 500 jobs — 250 full-time and 250  part-time positions. An additional 500 construction jobs would be filled over the course of the project.

  1. All this new traffic coming and the city does NOTHING to improve the access roads in this area, especially the narrow I40 bridge and 1940s Christmasville Road!

The new connector road from FE Wright should go all the way to HWY 70 so people coming from Nashville direction can get off on Exit 87 instead of Exit 85; that will reduce congestion by 50%

  2. Don’t be a grumpy ole’ turkey, Jim Britt. This is a great economic get for Jackson, and it’s great tourism dollars for West TN. Try to think outside of how it will inconvenience you and consider the positive economic impact. It’s a really good thing for kids, families, and visitors.
