Madison County Sheriff’s Office Moving

MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — The Madison County Sheriff’s Office will soon be
housed in what has been West Middle School.

On Monday County commissioners approved $180,000 in funding for
maintenance including roof repairs for the building.

According to commission chairman Gary Deaton the East College Street
location needs significant repairs including electrical and heating and
cooling repairs.

Deaton said it would cost more than $700,000 to renovate.

Commissioner hope the building will also be the site of a future Law
Enforcement and First Responder Training facility

In other business Commissioners approved a resolution asking the state
name a new Tennessee Bureau of Investigation lab in honor of the first
agent killed in the line of duty.

In August TBI Special Agent De’Greaun Frazier was shot and killed in
Jackson during an undercover sting operation .

The next step is for approval from the state.
