JACKSON Tenn — Firefighters battled two residential fires Thursday
afternoon.

The first home on Wentworth Drive was fully engulfed by flames when
firefighters arrived just after 1:30 pm..  They fought the flames for a
little over an hour before getting the fire under control.

Fire officials said the home appeared to be a total loss.

Officials say no one was home at the time of the fire. Witnesses reported
to fire fighters that they saw flames in the garage.

Crews responded to a 2nd afternoon house fire in north Jackson 

Fire officials say the fire occurred at a north Jackson home on Stratford
Lane

No one was injured, however, a family pet dog did not survive.

Fire officials said the home had mostly interior damage.

Firefighters believe a computer may be responsible for the blaze.
