Two former local high school athletes are alleged to be responsible for an
aggravated burglary and theft over $1,000.
Police say the two teens are responsible for a home break-in in north
Jackson. According to police, phone records led to the arrest involving
the theft more than $4,000 worth of items from a home on Arbor Ridge Cove.
The two are identified as 19 year old William Easton Underwood, former
University of Jackson football player, who was on the West Tennessee
All-Star team and had announced he was going to Mississippi State
University as a preferred walk-on. and 18 year old Jacob Morford played
basketball for Trinity Christian Academy
The two allegedly entered the home by forcing a glass panel out of a rear
door. Stolen items include cash, vehicle keys and video game systems. The
total value of the items taken was $4,466. Police say televisions had been
removed from walls and were staged to be taken.
A 911 call indicated the homeowner interrupted the burglary and the
suspects fled the scene.
Police say cell phone records reveal a GPS location “hit” that puts
Morford’s cell phone at or near the home around 9:21 p.m., which is about
ten minutes before a 911 caller reported someone inside the home, according
to court papers.
Jacob Morford appeared Monday in Jackson City Court. Morford is currently
being held at the Madison County Jail in lieu of a $20,000 bond.
