JACKSON TN (June 14, 2016) – Rep. Jimmy Eldridge is partnered with the Tennessee Department of Commerce & Insurance’s Division of Consumer Affairs along with local law enforcement on Saturday to host the Jackson Community Shred and Drug Take Back Event promoting identity theft prevention and consumer protection.
“Identity theft is now one of the fastest-growing crimes in our country; therefore, protecting your personal information is key to ensuring you don’t become a victim,” said Eldridge.
Eldridge said, “This community event offers peace of mind for Jackson-area residents by providing them a safe, efficient way to dispose of sensitive documents and outdated prescription drugs. I’d like to thank the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance for providing this valuable service to our community.”
Residents brought in Documents for shredding include outdated credit card statements, utility bills, investment documents, tax forms, loan documents, medical records, insurance documents, employment documents and more.
The event was free and include convenient prescription drug drop-off provided by local law enforcement.
Eldridge said the event had great attendance.
