MIFFLIN Tenn – Justice Roger Page was ceremonially sworn in before friends and family in his hometown of Mifflin.
In February, immediately after being unanimously voted by the state legislature, Justice Page took his official oath and began serving as a Tennessee Supreme Court Justice.
On Monday Page celebrated his appointment in front of West Tennessee friends and family.
Over a dozen speakers shared memories of Page’s time as a law clerk, family member, friend, and coworker. All praised the governor’s recommendation of Justice Page. Madison County Mayor Jimmy Harris, “I do believe you can judge a man by the kind of life he leads and how he respects his fellow-man,” Harris said. “Roger is a man of honesty and integrity with high moral standards and with what I believe will make him an excellent Supreme Court judge for our great state.”
Page is the first Supreme Court nominee to have to be approved by the state legislature after the state changed the rules for nominee selections. Page was unanimously approved, 132-0.
