From BlueOval SK –
Ford recently announced some changes in its plans for electrification. We want to make sure you have the latest, accurate information about what this means for BlueOval SK.
Construction continues at our facilities in Kentucky and Tennessee. We remain on schedule to begin battery production at Kentucky 1 in 2025 and ready to produce in Tennessee in late 2025. Kentucky 1 will manufacture cells for the current E-Transit with enhanced range and F-150 Lightning beginning in 2025.
In Tennessee, we will be ready to produce cells starting in late 2025 for Ford’s new electric commercial van to be built at Ford’s Ohio Assembly Plant. These same cells will be sourced to later power the next generation electric truck to be assembled at BlueOval City and future emerging technology electrified vehicles. Ford is scheduled to begin production on its new electric trucks in 2027.
