The Jackson Police Department is investigating a motor vehicle accident involving a motorcycle at the intersection of Casey Jones Lane and the U.S. Highway 45 Bypass that occurred at approximately 1:13 a.m., on August 18, 2024.

According to preliminary reports, a white SUV was turning northbound onto the U.S. Highway 45 Bypass as a motorcycle traveling southbound entered the intersection and collided with the SUV.

A Jackson Police Department pole camera captured the incident and is under investigation.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded promptly to the scene, but unfortunately, the motorcycle driver was found unresponsive.

The victim was airlifted to a nearby hospital (but) tragically the victim succumbed to injuries sustained from the accident.

The occupant of the SUV was reported to be uninjured in the collision.
