The Jackson Police Department is investigating a shooting on August 18, 2024, that occurred at approximately 2:01 a.m., in the vicinity of Greenfield Drive and Foxlea Drive off Old Hickory Boulevard.

Multiple ShotSpotter alerts indicated gunfire in the area.

A large street takeover block party with more than 100 juveniles and young adults in attendance was taking place.

Upon arrival, officers discovered an unresponsive victim suffering from gunshot wounds.

The victim was transported by Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to Jackson-Madison County General Hospital where the victim was pronounced deceased.

EMS transported the second victim with non-life-threatening injuries to a nearby hospital.
