After a great season, the USJ Bruins baseball team lost two games to a solid Lausanne team and a tough Tipton Rosemark Squad to get eliminated from the district tournament.
Even with the losses the bruins have nothing to hang their heads about. They won the regular season district championship, and played some all around great baseball throughout the season. They have created an amazing bond they will never forget!
Senior Wyatt (Hondo) Scott states,”Even though they may annoy me more than anything else in this world I still love them to death and I am very happy to have been able to play with them this year and build a strong relationship with each and every one of them.” This team has inspired the Bruin nation to keep fighting no matter what and give 100% in everything they do. The squad has built a brotherhood that they will never forget and they are a true representation of everything being on a team means, and a true reminder that sports are more than just wins and losses, they are memories that will last a lifetime with people who you will never forget.
Senior’s Wyatt Scott, Clennon Hardin, and Aubrey Sellers have had great careers and will be missed dearly. Hardin had a solid effort in the first loss against Lausanne with an absolute dinger of a home run. The younger guys on the team have lots of potential. Junior pitcher Corben Howard has been putting together incredible performances all season, Nash Kilburn is an insanely consistent batter and pitcher, and there has also been great contributions from players such as Logan Foster, Harrison McClain, Braden Jones, Noah Britt and multiple others.
I can’t wait to see what the future holds for Bruin baseball!
