Jackson Rockabillys include local baseball team in their Tuesday night game

Swing Check Baseball, a travel ball organization located in Jackson, had over 100 kids attend Tuesday night’s game against the Cape Catfish for special pregame recognition.

The organization, owned and operated by Roger Cook Jr., has over 15 teams ranging from 6u to 17u. The teams travel across the southeast region competing in tournaments during the fall and spring.

“These boys will never forget this moment,” said Brandon Maxwell, coach of the Swing Check Black 12U team. “They look up to these players, so giving our boys the opportunity to be on the field with them will hopefully continue to encourage them to work towards their goals.”

Despite the encouragement brought by the young supporters, the Rockabillys fell to the Cape Catfish for their tenth straight loss.

On Wednesday, August 2nd, the Rockabillys begin a two-game series with the Thrillville Thrillbillies, and the first 1,000 fans with paid admission receive a free, embroidered Rockabillys cap courtesy of our local Ace Hardware.

The final home game of the season is on Thursday, August 3rd. Every inning a pair of tickets to 2023 SEC football games will be given away, and after the game, kids will get to run the bases.
