Crockett County Sheriff Troy Klyce and Alamo Police Chief Jeff Sills are urging residents throughout Crockett County to take extra safety precautions following a string of recent home invasions and assaults.
Special agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation have joined the Alamo Police Department and Crockett County Sheriff’s Office in investigating three home invasions in Alamo between May 8 and 27.
In each incident, a female inside of the home was assaulted, one of which included sexual assault.
“Single woman households are always more vulnerable,” said a representative from the Crockett County Sheriff’s Department. “Have a plan in place to protect yourself until we can come.”
Residents are asked to be vigilant in keeping their doors and windows locked at all times and report any suspicious activity.
The sheriff’s department is also offering to make visits to individuals homes if they are worried about entry points and security. They will provide advice and resources on creating the safest version of your home.
This remains an active and ongoing investigation.
