Jackson, Tennessee – The Jackson Pride committee is pleased to announce a new location for its upcoming event. The 3rd Annual Jackson Pride scheduled for Saturday, October 8, 2022 will now take place at the Carl Perkins Civic Center.
The decision to move Jackson Pride eliminates the potential for rain delays and/or postponement which has impacted the event in years past.
The new location will also allow vendors additional set- up time. Darren Lykes, Jackson Pride Board Member and event Chair says, “The new venue offers many advantages and we are grateful to the City of Jackson for helping to make this possible.”
Jackson Pride will begin at 11 a.m. and include activities for all ages including musical performances by Avon Park, Emily McGill, Herz, Hunter Cross, Will Burton and entertainment from DJ G Billa Productions. Exhibit booths from various vendors and food trucks will also be part of the festivities.
The day will conclude with a family-friendly Drag Show, featuring some of the regions most talented performers. A one-dollar donation is requested for admission to the event.
The purpose of Jackson Pride is to create a more diverse and inclusive atmosphere in Jackson, Tenn.
“This event aims to bring the LGBTQIA+ population together, including communities within this community. Funds raised at the Jackson Pride Event will allow us to continue to expand and grow our mission of supporting diversity through awareness,” says Lykes. Approximately 1,000 attendees attended last year’s Jackson Pride event. “We are thankful to all of the sponsors and volunteers who, without their support, we would not be able to make the event possible”, says Lykes.
