Thirty Business Professionals Graduate From Leadership Jackson Program

Thirty local business professionals graduated from the Jackson Chamber’s 43rd Leadership Jackson class at the Carl Grant Events Center at Union University, Thursday.

Leadership Jackson, the chamber’s adult leadership development program, gives business professionals, employed with companies that are chamber members the opportunity to better understand the community, the opportunities and the challenges it faces. Class members visited community landmarks, met with area leaders and participated in weekly sessions about topics impacting Jackson-Madison County, including education, healthcare and government.

“The 43rd Leadership Jackson Class has taken full advantage of the opportunity to learn about and serve their community. Jackson has 30 individuals who are committed to servant leadership and investing in opportunities for the future of all residents of Jackson and Madison County. I am inspired by their vision for what is next and am honored to have been a part of their journey, ” said David Knack, vice-chair of Leadership Jackson Class of 2021.

“The 43rd Class of Leadership Jackson has taken the challenges given to them head on and have grown tremendously as a group, in their teams and as individuals,” mentioned Nick Hayes, chairman of Leadership Jackson Class of 2021. “They have utilized their resources to make a huge impact on Keep My Hood Good with their group projects. Jackson and Madison County is blessed to have this group of 30 empowered individuals taking ownership of our community’s future. It has been my honor to serve this group with David and Brandy.”

Leaders Credit Union donates $5,000 plus towards 5th annual ‘From Leaders with Love’ project this Christmas

JACKSON, Tennessee – Leaders Credit Union, a member-owned financial cooperative based in Jackson, Tenn., spread holiday cheer around West Tenn. with their fifth annual “From Leaders with Love” project.

According to a press release from Janet Wylie – Leaders Credit Union Marketing Specialist –
Beginning December 1, each branch and department of Leaders adopted a goodwill project in the community. Projects included goodie baskets for a local women’s shelter, lunch for community firefighters and police officers, Christmas gifts for the Salvation Army, treats for nursing staff at area hospitals, and many others.

Throughout December, Leaders carried out twelve projects and gave approximately $5,000 towards “From Leaders with Love” events.

“As a credit union, our mission is to power the passion of our members and make lives better, and what better time to bring happiness to our community than during the Christmas season,” President and CEO Todd Swims said. “Our financial champions have a tremendous capacity to help others, so we see it as our responsibility to fuel their potential and bless the community.”

Leaders challenged their staff to select projects that were close to their hearts. The results spanned from creating gift baskets for childhood cancer patients to bringing breakfast to local post office staff.
