For those familiar with theCo, 541 Wiley Parker Road, there will soon be a new kid on the block when The Soul Collective takes up residence at 582 South Royal Street, the former home of the NC & Stl Depot, Railroad and Museum.
The Soul Collective, founded in June 2021, is an entrepreneurial incubator which concentrates on elevating arts, culture, knowledge and wellness of Black and minority businesses through unity, commerce, education and social entertainment.
“We leased (depot) to theCO, and they are going to sublease or run a program out of it called ‘The Soul Collective,’ which is targeted toward African American businesses,” said council member Paul Taylor, “It’s a startup incubator … so we are excited to see that get off the ground, as well.”
Soul Collective will include a physical retail shop allowing participants to test pricing, products and more.
They will also be helping participants create, maintain and grow an online presence with a goal to help evaluate the brands from local to a regional and national scale.
