Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department & UT/TSU Extension hosting free diabetes classes

The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department along with representatives from the University of Tennessee/Tennessee State University Extension office will host a free ten-week educational program for people living with prediabetes and diabetes.

Real Talk: Diabetes 101 classes kick off Wednesday, April 28 at 10 a.m. at the UT/TSU Extension office, located at 309 North Parkway. Classes will take place each Wednesday through June 30.

Speakers will cover a variety of topics including blood sugar monitoring, nutrition labels, healthy eating, and more.

“This is a great opportunity to people living with prediabetes and diabetes to come and learn how to take care of themselves,” Health Educator Amanda Johnson said. “Diabetes is manageable with the right tools.
