TCA’s Savannah Lee named Gulf South Conference ‘Player of the Week’

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – University of Montevallo women’s basketball player Savannah Lee was named the Gulf South Conference’s Player of the Week for the East division, the league office announced Tuesday.

Lee’s play during the weekend sweep over West Georgia solidified her chances to earn the honor.

In game one of the UWG series, Savannah Lee led the Falcons in scoring, notching a career high 27 points on 66% shooting with six rebounds, four assists, one steal, and a block. The Jackson, Tennessee native also shot a perfect six for six from the free throw line. Lee closed out the weekend in game two with a 22 point,11 rebound double-double along with two steals and one assist.

A 2018 graduate of Trinity Christian Academy, Savannah averaged 20.5 points per game, and pulled down an average of 8.8 rebounds per game during her senior year.

Savannah set a school record in rebounding with 1,012, which shattered the old record of 645.

A post player, Savannah handed out 75 assists and was credited with 155 steals during her career at TCA.
