Physicians Quality Care launches free remote monitoring to detect COVID-19 early; 1 postive result

Physicians Quality Care’s free COVID Awareness Program launches today, giving entire households the ability to monitor their health in real-time and learn as quickly as possible if any members are showing symptoms for the virus.

Those who sign up for the program get access to a secure HIPAA-compliant app that they can download to their smartphone, tablet or computer.

Each day – or as often as necessary – they enter data, such as their blood pressure and temperature, and answer a few simple medical questions, which are then reviewed by a medical professional.

Anything that falls outside of accepted parameters is flagged, and a medical professional calls the individual 24/7 to discuss the next step. Participants can sign up every member of their household at no cost.

Meanwhile, people who already are concerned they may have the virus can be tested at the secure and isolated COVID-19 clinic at PQC’s Jackson location on Pleasant Plains Extension.

Since March 18, PQC has tested 795 people for the virus and received the results for 766 of those tests. Another positive test for a Madison County resident that was returned over the weekend brings the total number of PQC patients with the virus to 38.

All of PQC’s test kits are FDA approved and are are sent to CDC-approved, nationally accredited reference laboratories.

“Whether it’s providing people with a free app to monitor their health or offering coronavirus testing in a secure location, we feel that it is our role to help detect the virus early,” said Dr. Jimmy Hoppers, CEO of Physicians Quality Care, “It’s also important to give people peace of mind that they don’t have the virus.”

Those who come to PQC to be tested should call ahead or from the clinic’s parking lot. They will be given a mask and taken to the secure COVID-19 clinic for an exam and the test for the virus.

OCCMed/primary care patients and urgent care patients have their own separate entrances at PQC’s Jackson location to help prevent their coming in contact with the virus.

An updated county-by-county breakdown of PQC patients who have tested positive for the virus shows Madison County has 26 positive test results; Gibson County, 5; Haywood County, 3; Carroll County, 1; Henderson County, 1; Obion County, 1; and McNairy County, 1.

For more information or to sign up for the COVID-19 Awareness Program call 731-984-8400 or visit physiciansqualitycare.com.

The Physicians Quality Care location in Jackson is open 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., seven days a week.

Telemedicine is available for people who don’t want to come to the clinic. Because all COVID-19-concerned patients are directed to Jackson, PQC in Milan has new hours: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
