From the Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department –
The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department received positive test results for five more confirmed cases of COVID-19.
We now have 27 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County.
The newest patients are a 54-year-old male, 20-year-old male, 51-year-old female, a 69-year-old female, and 23-year-old female.
They were all told to self-isolate at home.
Our epidemiology staff is reaching out to people who had contact with the patients.
As of 4 p.m. today, we have received 2 positive COVID-19 test results from the March 26 drive-through assessment site at the Jackson Fairgrounds, where 38 people tested negative, and 26 tests are still pending.
