MEN’S 1ST ROUND UPDATE
The Union men fired a first-round 298, just two shots behind second place Valdosta State (296) and 10 shots behind leader West Florida (288).
Union’s Jordan Botwinick shot a first-round 70 to put him in a tie for second place, just two shots behind the leader, Jacob Huizinga (68) of West Florida. Botwinick is tied with Delta State’s Zach Zedier.
Also shooting well for Union in the first round was Braxton Rider (74) and Ethan Phillips (74), both tied for 13th place. Cal Templeton is tied for 44th with a first-round 80, while Cooper Pendergrass shot an 85.
WOMEN’S 1ST ROUND UPDATE
The Union women shot a 330 in the first round, just three shot behind fourth-place West Georgia. Lee (310) leads the event with West Florida (316) second and Montevallo (317) third.
Union has two individuals in the top-10 including McKenna Montgomery (T5) with a 77 and Alyssa Burnett (7) with a 78. Haverly Harrold of Lee leads the event with a 72.
Ashley Mccormick for Union is T29 (87), Delaney Sain if T32 (88), and Emma Korte is T35 (90).
