Accounts varied after the Jackson Police Department made a call to the Main Event Banquet Hall at 213 W. Main St., at 12:52 a.m., in downtown Jackson, Thursday.
Michael King, an on-air personality at NEWS/TALK 101.5 FM was told threats were exchanged between two suspects near the banquet hall, who fled before the JPD arrived.
King said he saw “four or five” patrol cars near the banquet hall before he heard what sounded like gunshots in the area of West Lafayette Street near Airways Boulevard.
King said two or three of the patrol cars left West Main Street and pulled onto Shannon Street before turning onto West Lafayette Street and continuing to Airways.
Capt. Derick Tisdale, of the Jackson Police Department would not confirm a shooting.
