The Salvation Army currently has 48 mobile feeding units in areas impacted by the category 4 hurricane, including 6 from the Kentucky and Tennessee, along with personnel deployed to assist volunteers.
At this stage, the units are feeding first responders and rescued survivors around the periphery of Houston, Texas. Currently, they say they are in need of monetary donations more so than supplies. They expect to feed 250,000 meals a day in affected areas.
The Salvation Army works closely with partner agencies (American Red Cross, Southern Baptist Relief, along with local, state and federal agencies). If you would like to make a donation to Hurricane Harvey victims, be sure to designate “Hurricane Harvey” in the check memo.
