(January 8, 2014) Jackson, Tenn.- The first meeting of the Jackson Municipal Regional Planning Commission took place Wednesday afternoon.
On the agenda was a rezoning for the a portion of the VFW as petitioned by both the City of Jackson and VFW Post 1848.
The parking lot for the VFW was zones as RS-1, or single family residential, but the building itself is zoned B-5, or highway business.
The City of Jackson are co-petitioners on the request because they own a piece of land on that property.
The land that the city owns in that area is part of future park development.
The motion passed.
