(December 27, 2013)- The 100 Black Men of West Tennessee held their 21st Annual Scholarship Benefit Gala.
Held at the Civic Center, the Gala is a benefit for their 21st Century Scholars Program, the F.A.M.I.L.Y. Mentoring Program, and the Book Buddies Program.
The theme for the 21st Gala was “Holiday Splendor.’ 2013.” The milestone was marked by Jackson City Councilman Ernest Brooks II who proclaimed the day “100 Black Men of West Tennessee Day.”
The evening continued with recognitions of the 21st Century Scholars of 2013. They area Melvin Wright, III, Jeremy Sharp, Copeland Elijah White, Avery Andrews, and Nigel Williams.
Entertainment for the evening was provided by Smooth Jazz Progressions and headlined by “The Manhattans.”
