(October 3, 2013) Jackson, Tenn.- The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has arrested two University of Tennessee at Martin students Wednesday night.
According to a release from the TBI, Patrick Valdez and Erin Chism, both aged 18, were arrested for sending threatening messages to a Facebook friend last month and harassing the victim.
The 27th Judicial District Attorney General requested that the TBI investigate allegations that the two were involved in sending a University of Tennessee Knoxville student threatening messages.
TBI determined that Valdez wrote and produced a song that referenced to sexually assaulting and killing the victim, killing her family, and burning their house down.
Chism added the victim as a friend on Facebook and sent the song to her.
Valdez and Chism were charged with one count of felony harassment and one count of felony conspiracy to commit harassment.
Valdez and Chism were booked into the Weakley County Jail. The UT Martin Police Department and Knoxville Police Department assisted in the investigation.
