(September 26, 2013) Jackson, Tenn.- The Jackson Energy Authority held their monthly board meeting on Thursday morning.
At that meeting, they approved the purchase of IP multiplexing equipment. This equipment will be used by the telecommunications division.
The equipment will allow for more advertising inserts into high definition channels. It also allows for more HD channels. More HD channels will be added in the near future.
The board was also presented with a bid that resulted in a tie. The policy manual has stipulations in case a situation like this was to arise.
After following the tiebreaker policy, the board agreed to purchase 636 MCM bare aluminum overhead conductor wire from Stuart C. Irby.
Other improvements authorized at the meeting were the treatment of wooden distribution poles, a new crane truck for the gas division, replacement of vehicles, and renewing a line of credit with Regions Bank.
The board also approved the purchase of pipe to be used in northwest annexation Phase III water line extension. After this project is completed, all services will be available to all annexation areas.
