LyondellBasell Celebrates 25 Years in Jackson

(September 20, 2013) Jackson, Tenn.- LyondellBasell celebrated 25 years in Jackson today.Both the city and county recognized the site with proclamations. 

 

Madison County Mayor Jimmy Harris and Jackson Mayor Jerry Gist were on hand to present the proclamation. The proclamation makes September 20 “LyondellBasell Day.” 

 

According to a press release, LyondellBasell, “combines polypropylene resin with other materials that its customers use to make automotive parts including bumpers, grilles, instrument panels and airbag covers.”

 

They employ over 100 people at the plant. The plant has six production lines. 

 

The Jackson site also received recognition letters from Senator Bob Corker (R-TN), and Senator Lamar Alexander (R-TN). 

 

State Representative Jimmy Eldridge also sent a letter and presented the site with a state proclamation. 

 

Jackson Site Manager Rebecca White  said, “This is a tremendous honor not only for LyondellBasell but also for everyone who works at our site.” 

 

White continued, “It is extremely gratifying to know we are appreciated in the city we have called home for a quarter of a century.”
