(August 24, 2013) Jackson, Tenn.- West Tennessee Healthcare is going to hold multiple free health fairs in the area.
The first of the four “Neighborhood Health Fairs” will begin August 24 starting at 8AM at the LIFT Wellness Center.
The health fair is usually held at the Carl Perkins Civic Center, but they have decided to take it on the road.
Bobby Arnold, President and CEO of West Tennessee Healthcare, said in a release, about the move, “We decided to move our annual health fair traditionally held at the Carl Perkins Civic Center to different areas of the city to encourage residents to take advantage of the free services.”
Some of the services offered will be screenings for bone density, blood pressure, grip strength, body mass, balance, vision, and on- line ” awares” testing.
In addition to free screening services, the Neighborhood Health Fairs will also have exhibits. These exhibits come from multiple sources. Those exhibits will come from Sports Plus, the LIFT, Kirkland Cancer Center, West Tennessee Heart and Vascular Center, West Tennessee Women’s Center, Neuroscience and Spine Center, the MAC Club, Medical Center EMS and the West Tennessee Healthcare Foundation Community Anti-Drug Coalition.
The events occur at multiple locations in multiple areas. All locations will offer the same screening services. The following are the dates, times, and locations for each of the Neighborhood Health Fairs:
