On Tuesday, Marquette Walker, 31, of Jackson, pleaded guilty to Aggravated
Sexual Battery in Madison County Circuit Court Division I. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison with no parole. At the conclusion of his term of imprisonment, he will have to register as a sex offender and must be under community supervision for life, monitored by the board of probation and parole.
This conviction stems from a joint investigation by the Jackson Police Department and the Department of Children’s Services. The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Jody Pickens.
In March of this year, an 11-year-old girl told police that Walker sexually assaulted her. He was arrested in March and has been in continuous custody at the Madison County Jail under a $75,000 bond. Upon his guilty plea, his bond
was cancelled and he will remain in jail pending transfer to the Tennessee Department of Correction.
