Damarcus Cole was found guilty in the murder and robbery of Demetris Cole, 31.

(September 13, 2013) Jackson TN – Following a two-day trial in Madison County Circuit Court, Division I,
the jury found 27 year-old Damarcus Cole guilty of felony murder and especially aggravated robbery.
The verdicts were retuned after about an hour of deliberation.
Damarcus Cole will be held pending sentencing at 10 a.m. Nov. 12 in Circuit Court.
Cole faces life (60 years) for felony murder and 15 to 25 years for especially aggravated robbery.
Shortly before 5 a.m. Oct. 29, 2011, police were called about a shooting inside an apartment at
274 Moize Cut-Off Road. Demetris Cole had been shot multiple times inside Damarcus Cole's
apartment during a robbery. The two men were not related.
Demetris Cole was transported by ambulance to Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. He
died two days later from his injuries.
Damarcus initially told investigators that in the early morning hours of Oct. 29, he had picked up
two strangers in the Old Hickory Blvd. area and brought them to his apartment. He further stated
that they robbed and shot Demetris and then forced him to drive them away. According to
Damarcus, they later released him unharmed.
During the investigation, police determined that Damarcus Cole was involved, along with the two
men, in the robbery and murder. Fifteen months after the incident, Cole was indicted.
One man was described as a black male, light complexion, 6' 0" in height. He wore eyeglasses
and had a short hair cut.
The other man was described as a black male, dark complexion, 5' 5" to 5' 7" in height. Both men
were thought to be between the ages of 20 and 25
