(August 19, 2013, Jackson, TN) –The Tennessee Department of Education released the 2012 – 2013 Reward Schools for the state. Madison Academic High School has been identified as a Reward School for the Jackson – Madison County School System.
The Tennessee Department of Education identifies Reward Schools annually and this is the second year for Madison Academic to receive this recognition.
Reward schools are those schools across the state in the top 5 percent for performance, measured by a one year success rate, or top 5 percent for progress, measured by a one year TVAAS school composite.
These 10 percent of schools receive recognition for their success under the Tennessee Department of Education accountability system. The state board of education approved the list of Reward Schools in their meeting on August 16, 2013, and identified schools were released today.
“We areproud of Madison’s leadership, and the great teachers, staff, students and parents of this great school for this significant accomplishment,” commented Dr. Verna Ruffin, Superintendent of the Jackson – Madison County School System
