The first day of school is Friday, August 2, 2013 and is a half day for students.
Dr. Verna Ruffin will be hosting a Back to School Bash on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Old Hickory Mall beginning at 8:00 am until 12:00 noon. Ruffin and members of the JacksonMadison County School Board will be available to talk with parents and students throughout the morning in the Belk wing of the mall. In conjunction with the Tennessee Tax-Free Holiday, Ruffin and members school board will be available to meet one-on-one with parents and students of the community to answer questions and listen to comments while families shop for school supplies. They will be available beginning at 8:00 am followed by introductions at 8:50 am by Emcee, Steve Bowers and a variety of performances by local JMCSS students. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend.
