(July 15, 2013) Jackson TN – Jackson police are investigating an early morning homicide.
At 1:13 a.m. Sunday, an officer was patrolling and heard gunshots in the area of Club Sensations, located at 13 Bond Street. Officers arrived on the scene and found a man lying on the parking lot with gunshot wounds.
The man was identified as Raymon Carpenter, 26, of Nashville. Carpenter was transported by ambulance to Jackson-Madison County General Hospital and was pronounced dead around 2:30 a.m.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Carpenter was in Jackson for a family gathering. He and two sisters had gone to Club Sensations. While inside Carpenter was involved in an altercation with another man.
Carpenter was told to leave by security. He was then followed outside by a group of men. At least two men in the group confronted Carpenter. One of the men was possibly the same person who Carpenter had argued with inside Club Sensations. Carpenter had another altercation with the men, and he was shot.
One suspect was described as a black man wearing a green shirt, white shorts and white baseball cap. The second suspect was a black man with dread-lock style hair. He was described as wearing a gray or white shirt.
