The Jackson Police Department is saddened over the untimely death of K9 Aron

JACKSON Tenn (June 29, 2017) – The Jackson Police Department is saddened by the untimely death of K9 Aron.  K9 Aron was recently diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer.

Born November 11, 2009 in the Republic of Slovenia, Aron was trained in the United States.  Aron began his career with the Jackson Police Department, May 2011, and was partnered with Officer Eston Williams, a 17 year veteran of the Jackson Police Dept.

Aron was a dual purpose K9 that was trained in narcotics detection and K9 patrol techniques which included tracking, article searches, criminal apprehension and building clearing.

During his career, K9 Aron was responsible for recovering illegal drug contraband and assisting in the apprehension of several dangerous criminals.  Aron also served this community by participating in public presentations and educational demonstrations for youth groups and civic organizations.

“This is a difficult time for Officer Williams and our thoughts are with him during this time of loss,” said Police Chief Julian Wiser, who previously served on the K9 unit. Wiser said he understands the close bond that is developed between a handler and his K9 partner.  Chief Wiser said, “K9 Aron was a valuable part of the Jackson Police Department and he will be greatly missed.”
