On August 17, 2026, Roxanne McCorry pled guilty as charged in seven (7) indictments, including two (2) counts of shoplifting, two (2) counts of resisting arrest, two (2) counts of evading arrest as a persistent misdemeanor offender, leaving the scene of an accident, driving on a revoked or suspended license, and two (2) counts of organized retail theft, and received a total effective sentence of twelve (12) years, eleven (11) months, and twenty-nine (29) days.
Investigator Brandon Bankston and Investigator Maria Hasz of the Jackson Police Department developed Roxanne McCorry as the primary suspect in numerous shoplifting incidents across Jackson, Tennessee. The defendant stole over $10,000 worth of merchandise from retailors TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Bath and Body Works, Walgreens, Target, Academy Sports, and Kohls.
McCorry was charged in two separate counts of organized retail theft, both spanning over ninety (90) days, in which she orchestrated the theft of merchandise while coordinating with numerous accomplices and utilizing various items such as luggage from the retailer to facilitate the theft of merchandise worth thousands. Roxanne McCorry pled guilty to not only stealing these items but doing so to resell them for her own monetary gain and performing supervisory and/or organizational authority over others also engaged in the crime.
In addition to her significant theft ring, Roxanne McCorry ran from the police on two separate occasions, and based on her extensive criminal history, these misdemeanor crimes were enhanced to Class E felony offenses.
Roxanne McCorry also failed to appear for a court date in Madison County Circuit Court Division II after the District Attorney’s Office filed a motion to revoke the defendant’s bond based on her continued criminal conduct while released on bond. She ultimately pled guilty as charged for this conduct as well.
“Roxanne McCorry would not stop her criminal ways despite numerous arrests,” said District Attorney General Jody Pickens. “Through the efforts of Assistant District Attorney General Chandler Croom working with the Jackson Police Department, this habitual thief will not be able to victimize Jackson merchants for some time. She was not stealing the necessities of life, rather she was stealing items to be resold on the black market. Instead of getting a legitimate job and earning an honest living, her chosen profession was to be a part of a theft ring. Now her thieving days are over for the foreseeable future.”
