JACKSON, Tenn. — The Jackson Rockabillys are proud to announce that Field Manager Matty Holem will return to lead the team for the 2027 Prospect League season.
Holem was officially offered the position by Rockabillys President and General Manager Dennis Bastien during a pregame, on-field ceremony prior to the team’s final home game of the 2026 season.
The 45-year-old Holem led the Rockabillys to a 31-24 overall record, including an impressive 19-9 mark at Rockabillys Stadium. Under Holem’s leadership, the Rockabillys used an aggressive, speed-based style of play to lead the Prospect League with a single-season team record of 213 stolen bases. Jackson also ranked fifth in the league with 331 walks and led the league in sacrifice bunts, showcasing a team built around speed, discipline and fundamentally sound small-ball baseball.
“I am extremely excited and grateful for the opportunity to return as Field Manager of the Jackson Rockabillys for the 2027 season,” Holem said. “Jackson has a special baseball community, and I am looking forward to getting back in the dugout, working with our players and staff, and representing this organization.”
“Our goal in 2027 is to build a team that our fans can be proud of — one that plays with energy, develops our players, competes every night, and represents the Rockabillys and the city of Jackson the right way,” Holem added.
With Holem back at the helm, the Rockabillys will set their sights on taking the next step in 2027 — bringing a Prospect League championship to Jackson.
“We are incredibly proud of the job Matty did this past season and are thrilled to have him returning for 2027,” said Dennis Bastien, Rockabillys President and General Manager. “His commitment goes well beyond what happens on the field. His involvement in the community, his willingness to participate in player appearances and his connection with our fans have truly set him apart.
“We consider it an honor that Matty wants to continue being part of what we are building here in Jackson.
“He has been a blessing to our organization and has quickly become a fan favorite.”
