The Jackson Community is preparing for 731 Day Friday, July 31. One local business, Our Jackson Home, is preparing to offer the community a fun-filled day of events for people to celebrate.

“First, I would encourage everybody to look at all of the deals that we have posted, a ton of local businesses have rallied behind 731 Day,” said Lizzie Emmons, Program Director for Our Jackson Home. “They’ve created their own deals so it’s a good time to get some local handmade things, hand-cooked things, here in Jackson.”

Our Jackson Home’s 731 Day event will take place at Hub City Brewing at 250 West Main Street with doors opening at 6:30 p.m., with live music beginning 30 minutes later. Folks can expect music from local artist Izzy Arthurs, refreshing shaved ice from Seb’s Shaved Ice and delicious hot dogs from Uncle Fat Dog’s. The first 150 people will also receive a free Yukon and Our Jackson Home collab tumbler.

Our Jackson Home started in 2014 as just a group of friends coming together to create a podcast focused on the city of Jackson. It became something even bigger when founding editor Katie Howerton turned Our Jackson Home into a journal with the goal of celebrating the stories of the Jackson community.

“We exist to celebrate the people and the stories of the community, and I think that it’s important that our community celebrates itself,” Emmons said. “I think in the world we live in there’s just a lot of negativity and it’s easy to fall into what’s wrong and the point of Our Jackson Home is to celebrate what’s good.

Along with Our Jackson Home’s event, there will also be other festivities and deals taking place across Jackson.

 The Lost Reserve at 927 North Highland Ave., will be hosting a concert with music by Izzy Arthurs, Kota Band and Avon Park. Doors will open at 7 p.m. with the concert starting at 8 p.m., there will be a $10 fee at the door.

 Uncle Fat Dog’s on Shannon Street will be selling $7.31 combo meals from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

 Brooks Shaw’s Old Country Store at 56 Casey Jones Lane will host a free water balloon fight at 2:30 p.m. on the Providence House lawn at Casey Jones Village. They will also have inflatables, a snow cone truck and the Jackson Fire Department.

 Salem and Sage Studios at 207 E Main St. will have a $7.31 off deal from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. for purchases $75 or more.

 Lift Wellness Center will offer a sign-up special of $7.31 and will have local vendors on site from 5 a.m.-8 p.m. at 101 Jackson Walk Plaza.

 Little Loves Indoor Playground at 315 E Lafayette St. will be offering $11 admission from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. for all children.

 What’s More To Love will be offering 7.31 percent off any purchase from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. at 212 E Main Street.

 Modero Coffee at Union University will be offering a pastry and 16-ounce cold brew for $7.31 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., as well as $7.31 off all merchandise.

 Got Dough Cookies and More will offer an online deal of 10 count mini chocolate chip cookie jars for $7.31.

 Garner Blue Shop at 7 Jackson Walk Plaza, will offer $7.31 off their 731 hats from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m.

 Pulled Pork Perfection will have an all-day online barbecue sauce giveaway.

 Byevanwalls at 22 Ayers Drive will be giving away free handmade rings until supplies last.

 Golden Hour Yoga and Wellness will have a founding memberships deal for $73.10 from 8 a.m.- 6 p.m. at 320 E Lafayette Street.

 Gylden Bake House will have a coffee or tea plus select pastries deal for $7.31 from 7 a.m.- 4 p.m. at 215 N Liberty Street.

 The Nine Oh Six and Company’s entire shop will be 17.31 percent off from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 212 E Main Street.

 Jackson’s Kitchen and Catering will be offering a breakfast and lunch special for $7.31 from 7 a.m.- 2 p.m. at 203 E. Lafayette Street.

 Rock N’ Dough Pizza and Brewery will be selling their garlic knots for $7.31 from 11 a.m.- 10 p.m. at 16 Jackson Walk Plaza.

 Hub City Brewing will have $7.31 off merchandise, cases of beer and a special 731 Day cocktail for $7.31 from 4 p.m.- 12 a.m. at 250 West Main Street.

 Martin’s Trap House will have a 4 traditional wing deal with a side of fries or onion rings for $7.31 from 11 a.m.- 5 p.m. at 1410 E Chester Street.

 Lifetime Eyecare will have $7.31 wellness screenings from 8:15 a.m.- 5 p.m. at 2043 Greystone Square.

 Plato’s Closet Jackson will have a back-to-school drop, in-store discounts and a parke sweatshirt giveaway from 9 a.m.- 9 p.m. at 169 Stonebrook Place.

 Hub City Deli will have breakfast and lunch specials for $7.31 from 8 a.m.- 3 p.m. at 2062 Pleasant Plains Extension.

 The Plant Shop will offer 7.31 percent off all in-store purchases from 10 a.m.- 6 p.m. at 219 North Parkway Suite 6.

And of course it wouldn’t be a 731 day without Jackson Rockabillys baseball. The Rockabillys play their final regular season game at Rockabillys Stadium – gates open at 6 p.m. followed by the 7 p.m., first pitch – tickets will be priced at $7.31 – with $7.31 deals on concessions and merchandise.
