MADISON COUNTY, TN – The Madison County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating a shooting that occurred late Sunday night at Savannah Williamson Park, located at 152 Neely Station Road in Denmark, Tennessee.
On Sunday, July 19, 2026, at approximately 10:40 p.m., Madison County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch received multiple 911 calls reporting shots fired at Savannah Williamson Park. Deputies, along with emergency medical personnel and fire personnel, responded immediately to the scene.
Upon arrival, first responders located multiple individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. Personnel immediately began providing lifesaving treatment while deputies secured the area to ensure the safety of victims, first responders, and the public. Multiple victims were transported to a local hospital via personal vehicles.
Investigators recovered multiple firearms, along with a high volume of shell casings from weapons of various calibers at the scene. Preliminary information indicates a gunfight between numerous individuals in the park area. Additionally, a four-door sedan (color unknown) was observed traveling along Neely Station Road in front of Savannah Williamson Park while shots were being fired from the vehicle. Shell casings recovered on Neely Station Road indicate the weapon fired from the sedan was a high-caliber rifle. Savannah Williamson Park is equipped with a camera system that investigators are actively reviewing.
At this time, three individuals have died as a result of the incident. Two victims were pronounced deceased at the scene, while a third victim was later pronounced deceased at a local hospital. Several additional victims sustained gunshot injuries and were transported to area medical facilities for treatment. At present, the total number of victims associated with this incident is approximately 12, including the deceased.
All victims were adults, with the exception of one individual who was 16 years of age. Another victim was 36 years old. The remaining victims’ range in age from 18 to 24 years old. Out of respect for the victims and their families, the identities of those involved are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office has launched an extensive investigation into this incident. Investigators are currently processing evidence, conducting interviews, and following all available leads to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting and identify those responsible.
Sheriff Julian Wiser stated, “This is a tragedy for our community. Our investigators are working tirelessly to determine the facts of this incident and to hold those responsible accountable. We ask for patience as this remains a very active and complex investigation. Preliminary information suggests this incident has a gang-related nexus.”
