Jackson, Tennessee – Leadership from Jackson State Community College, Dyersburg State Community College, and the University of Memphis met at University of Lambuth to establish the One Step Closer initiative recognizing the partnership between 2-year and 4-year institutions as a best practice for transfer student success for many years.
This program guarantees admission to the University of Memphis for students with a 2.0 GPA or higher and waives the application fee for One Step Closer students. Additionally, students in the program with a 3.25 GPA at the end of their Associate degree will receive a $3,000 scholarship to University of Memphis, as well as early access to many of the support services that University of Memphis offers.
