Dancing with the STARs, presented by Leaders Credit Union and benefiting The STAR Center, returned for its 8th season on Oct. 26 at the Jackson Fairgrounds.

The sold out event raised over $300,000 for the STAR center, a 501(c)(3) non-profit founded in 1988 that provides services to people with disabilities of all ages and needs.

Participants are encouraged to raise money prior to the event, then attendees have the opportunity to vote with their dollars for the people’s choice award. Judges are also present to narrow down the winners of several other awards.

Hustle award (most tables/seats sold): Deann Thelen

Highest fundraising award: Dorothea Spates

People’s choice winners: Bryce King and Dorothea Spates

Mirror Ball Champions: Bryce King and Dorothea Spates

Leaders Credit Union was the events presenting sponsor, The Smith/Campbell Group of Raymond James was the Champion Sponsor and Regions Bank was the Disco Sponsor.
