From the Jackson Police Department –

Officers with the Jackson Police Department are investigating a homicide that occurred in the area of 82 Clayton Street, near South Highland Avenue.

On April 10, 2023, at approximately 10:26 p.m., officers responded to a call of shots fired and upon arrival made contact with one victim suffering with what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries.

Officers later identified a suspect and took him into custody without incident.

This is an ongoing investigation.
