Ytockie Fuller Guilty of First Degree Murder

JACKSON, Tenn. (April 23, 2015) – It took a jury just 30 minutes to return a verdict of guilty against Ytockie Fuller first-degree murder in the death of Algernon “A.J.” Lloyd Jr.

The jury sentenced  Fuller to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Fuller’s 2-day trial started Wednesday in Madison County Circuit Court. The prosecution presented its case Wednesday, the defense and closing arguments were Thursday.

In March of 2014 the 38-year-old Fuller, was charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of Algernon Lloyd.

According to the court records, about 7:30 p.m.,on March 11. 2014, police were called about a car that struck a porch at a residence in the 200 block of East Forest Avenue.

Investigators say Lloyd had been sitting in his car in front of the female friend’s house on Greenwood Avenue. Fuller, who was the woman’s ex-boyfriend, drove up and approached Lloyd, according to investigators.

According to police, that’s when the confrontation between Fuller and Lloyd occured.They say Fuller shot Lloyd as he was trying to leave. Lloyd drove away and traveled about a half-mile before crashing at the East Forest Avenue address.

The prosecution argued Fuller’s actions were premeditated.  The defense contended their client acted in self-defense. No weapon was ever found.
